The marriage proposal has barely been announced and you’re already thinking about it together: Where do I spend this unique day? Erwin v. d. Mühle, together with his team, offers the ideal solution in his historic ambience with an all-round package from A for arrival to Z for togetherness in the wedding suite.
The geographical location of Birgel offers all couples from the surrounding area a quick connection. And if you come from Hamburg, Berlin, Munich or Basel, you can meet in the middle.
The wedding celebration with civil ceremony or free wedding ceremony takes place, with everything that goes with it, on a large area of the mill. Erwin v. d. Mühle simply takes care of everything so that everything runs smoothly and relaxed right from the start. 2 to 3 meetings together including a great rehearsal dinner are enough to fulfill all this.
As the bridal couple, you arrive the day before, park your car in front of the wedding suite and perhaps receive one or two guests who have already set off earlier due to the long journey. The evening before is spent together over a good meal and delicious drinks in the “Zum Sägewerk” inn or in another room of the historic watermill. The next morning, the bride has plenty of time to get ready for the wedding ceremony.
Hairdressing, cosmetics and much more can be done in peace and quiet.
The wedding ceremony is then scheduled for the early afternoon. The ceremony is held in our own registry office room and lasts between 30 and 45 minutes, depending on the music or speeches. A toast is then made with a glass of sparkling wine or freshly tapped beer (i.e. relaxed and casual) before the wedding cake is quickly served to all guests, accompanied by hearty millstone sandwiches. To shorten the always long time until dinner, Erwin v. d. Mühle now offers an exciting and interesting mill tour, which lasts about an hour and shows all the collected and fully functional mills in operation.
Afterwards, they party and dance with a live band, DJ or their own laptop until the bride and groom have reached their bedtime and come to the conclusion: “It was a great party”. Only when I have heard this sentence will I close the doors in satisfaction and allow the bride and groom and their guests a few more good hours of sleep. Now it’s time to have breakfast together again, talk about the evening and then, without even having touched the car, start the journey home again.
The Birgeler Mühle has around 40 beds for overnight stays. If there is a greater demand, we also have approx. 160 beds available in the neighboring village. Of course, there is a shuttle service there, e.g. with a wedding bus or a vintage car for the bridal couple, so that all cars can remain parked at this version. We offer the all-round package for all party sizes up to 200 people.
