The Daun wildlife park and adventure park is not far from the mill. It is a very popular destination in the beautiful Vulkaneifel. Families with children especially like to visit this park, which extends over a total area of 220 hectares.
The main attraction in the park are of course the many animals that live here, but nature lovers will also get their money’s worth in the wildlife park. Picturesque forest and meadow landscapes invite you to take long walks in this park.
The park is crossed by a so-called car hiking road; But you can leave your car at six grandstands and watch the animals from there. Even feeding most of the animals is allowed; special food is offered at the park ticket office.
In particular, native animals such as black, red and fallow deer can be discovered in the park, but unusual animals such as llamas, donkeys, yaks and bisons also live here. The monkey enclosure is particularly popular – 53 Barbary apes live here and delight visitors with their mischievous nature. In the falconry, on the other hand, you can attend an interesting flight demonstration twice a day during the main season.
But these are by far not all the attractions in Wildaprk – there is a lot more to offer, especially for younger visitors. A special highlight is the summer toboggan run; this 800 meter long adventure railway is in front of the park. The adventure playground is also a real highlight – the little ones can really let off steam here. A huge climbing castle, a trampoline and a monkey swing are just a few examples of the attractions on offer here.
